Family Field Trips Revisited- January
Last year we had a family goal to have one family field trip a month, but we set some pretty tight requirements. We said that it had to be educational And fairly inexpensive. Those two things do not always work together very well. We didn't do very well at completing that goal, so this year we made the goal again, but with a few differences.
This year the activity does not have to be educational, just fun. And it needs to be something out of the ordinary that we do together as a family. Pretty simple.
For January our options were a bit limited. It was ridiculously cold and there wasn't anything we could do outside so we decided to make our own fun at home and have a camp out in the living room.
Alan set up a "tent." The kids loved it, and so did the dogs.
We had a picnic dinner consisting of chili dogs, apple slices, and peach dump cake with ice cream.
Then it was time for PJ's and rough-housing.
We all had a great time, but I think Lucy's expression pretty much sums it up.
We all slept in the living room. The kids and I made it all night, but Alan went to his bed around 5:00 am. It wasn't a restful sleep, but I was pretty proud of my 30 year old body for sticking it out.
