Zoo times 2

I went to the zoo 2 times in 2 days.  Good thing I like the zoo. 

On Wednesday I went on a field trip with Karina's class.  I had 4 kids in my group.  They were a very well behaved group of kids.   

There was a zoo worker out with a baby python.  The kids all went to touch it and I stayed far away but close enough to grab a few pictures.  Snakes are NOT my thing.  

It was a lovely day.   

The next day we had a playgroup field trip to the zoo.   

We had a doctor's appointment that morning and we went straight to the zoo after that.  We were an hour earlier than the rest of the group so I had some time just with my kids.  It was really nice.  

 As soon as the rest of the group came, Bruce ran over to his friend Lily, gave her a hug, and took her hand.  They walk around the zoo hand in hand.  They are pretty cute.  

Bruce was very excited to see the giraffes.  Anything that resembled the characters in Madagascar, he was very excited about.

They have a petting zoo.   Bruce was nervous to feed the animals, but not Lucy.  She loves animals.  

I had two very good days at the zoo.  

Family Time

After our trip to Utah, Alan went home and the kids and I went to Rigby.  Alan came over with Karina later that week and Scott and his family came on Saturday.  It was like a mini family reunion.  We had a lot of fun and it was nice to spend some time with Scott and his family.  We hadn't seen them in almost two years.

Easter Sunday the kids wore their new Easter outfits and some of the cousins (Millie and Eli) joined in for a few pictures.

 I took the kids around the yard in the quad.  We found an Easter egg we had missed on Sunday.  After that the kids had eagle eyes, but no more eggs were found.

Mom and Dad took us to Leo's place for lunch on our last full day.  They kids had a great time and we all had fun in the arcade.

 They have this room full of climbing stuff and slides.  The kids loved it.  Here is Millie after she went down the slide.

 Able playing.  Scott had to basically get him up top so he would stay inside.  I think he was just trying to get out the whole time, but he seemed happy about it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving we had our friend's family and my parents as our guests.  We worked most of the day Wednesday to prepare so there really wasn't too much to do on Thursday.  Before our feast we did a little craft.  I found the idea on Pinterest but I think ours turned out much cuter.  My mom cut out all of the pieces and the kids put together their turkey hats before our feast. 

 

 I really think the adults put them together, but the kids at least felt like they were doing something.

 What a happy little turkey (no pun intended).

And here is our feast of feasts, or at least what was left of it.  If you look in the roaster pan you will see my homemade stuffing (I'm talking from loaves of fresh bread even).  It was amazing.  I am very proud if you can't tell.  Everything was great and better yet we had great company!

Sushi!

I like to surround myself with wonderful people. I would like to think that I am pretty good at picking friends. Not only do I like awesome people but they need to be useful as well. Let's take Sarina for example. Sarina has helped me make curtains for my living room, she is GREAT with my kids (the kids don't really get that Sarina isn't a part of the family), she is handy, she made me an AWESOME snowman to hang on the wall, she can chat with me while she is at work, and she makes homemade sushi!

I am definitely going to keep her around!

We ate this whole plate and made 4 more rolls after that. Yum!
